Spencer Creek is always a fun outing but proved more challenging than usual with the fresh snow and only three of the seven of us had snowshoes to pack down the trail.
Commonwealth Creek is a relatively mild hike under normal conditions but on this day the knee-deep snow in the upper meadow put our lead mules to the test.
Rummel is always a fun jaunt that provides a decent workout without ripping the lungs out. On this overcast day, we weren't able to enjoy the usual mountain views.
Sparrowhawk was a bit challenging on this day due to the fresh snow and drifting that made it tough to find the trail and required some true snowshoe effort.
This trail is a good one for all ages and abilities as it has very little elevation change, is under three hours, and offers some scenic views of the surrounding mountain ranges.
