We were on the front end of the annual second half of September larch season but experienced a glorious cloud-free day despite starting in shorts in -1C weather.
This was my first time hiking in this area and there is some beautiful scenery. We didn't make the lake as Craig decided to take us on a bit of an unplanned detour.
This was supposed to be a celebratory hike to Chester Lake for the 10 year passing of our buddy Binger but the trail was closed so we scooted up to Headwall Lakes.
Old Goat Glacier is always a longer and tougher hike than memory serves me, however is it quite majestic and unique to be able to hike along the edge of a glacier.
