Body Joint Maintenance
A lot of friends that are in my age demographic have joint issues that prevent them from enjoying life to the fullest, which is sad to see. I use the following to keep myself in the best shape possible as I near my 7th decade.
Food/drink/supplements:
- water (the daily amount is determined by dividing your body weight by 20 to get the number of 8-ounce glasses to drink in a day and then adding back for any coffee, tea, carbonated drinks, or alcohol)
- turmeric (Golden Milk which includes ginger and black pepper)
- calcium magnesium
- Glucosamine Sulfate with Chondroitin
- Udo’s or fish oil
- ginger
- foods (salmon, oatmeal, kale, avocado, pistachios)
- arnica
- Nature’s gel
Treatments:
- massage
- acupuncture
- active release
- chiropractic (NUCCA method)
- Prolotherapy injections
Healing activities:
- stretching
- breathing (nasal)
- yoga (Yin, Gentle, Restorative)
- meditation
- ball rolling (small lacrosse type ball to work into the joints)
- rest/sleep
Low impact sporting activities:
- walking
- rollerblading
- cruiser bike
- paddleboarding
- pickleball
- golf
- swimming
- skating
- cross country skiing
- weight lifting
- wake surfing
- curling
- rowing/paddling
